Thanksgiving Dinner
This first project was created as a playful way to poke fun at my family during Thanksgiving dinner. I turned familiar personalities and the chaos of the holiday into exaggerated turkey characters, using humor, expressive characters, and storytelling to capture the energy of a family gathering.
The Study Of Masks
For this project, I drew 50 masks to study facial features, expressions, and the different ways emotion can be portrayed. I began by working from reference photos, then used what I learned to create my own series of five masks representing the five stages of grief. I loved playing around with the different ways that the face can display exaggerated emotion.
Wear The Change
This project was created for my Public Relations class after learning about the treatment of garment workers in Bangladesh in my Fashion Promotion class. It gave me the opportunity to explore the human side of fashion and how the industry impacts the people behind the textiles we wear every day. Through this project, I wanted to bring more awareness to the importance of ethical and sustainable practices in fashion. It was then hung in SUNY Oneonta’s on-campus thrift store for the remainder of the semester!
